My name is Helen Mitchell and I live in a village near Peterborough. I am married to Jason and between us we have 4 lovely girls. I am a total animal lover and we have two black cats, Lucy and Ru, Mad Madge our Border Collie and cuddly Spot the newest addition to our family. I work part time on a farm as a secretary and manage to make beads with every spare moment I have.

I began beadmaking in December 2005, my husband bought me a starter kit for Christmas after I had been going on for months that I wanted to make my own beads after seeing a display at a bead fair. I knew it was for me and ever since then have been totally addicted.
Here is my main working area, I like to think of it as an organised mess!! I like having all my rods out and near by so I can see all the colours.

Here is Barry the Bluebird, my kiln. I pop my beads straight in from the flame to prevent the glass stressing and cracking.

I am an active member of bead buddies which is a lovely forum all about beads, I have made many friends through this forum and enjoy taking part in their challenges and swaps.
My bead making gives me a purpose and a goal and without it I am sure I would be a bit lost and probably quite mad!!!
